In our most recent review of "Blood and Bone", we praised it as a powerful film about corruption in the medical profession. In "Death and the Maiden", we see something of the same, but in a different way. This is the story of the quest for a great deal of money in order to perform surgery that never existed. This is a film about how greed and the desire to have the most money can create problems in the pursuit of higher goals. When a surgeon dies, he is placed in a world of sick people whose lives depend on his work. But this money will not be enough for them to live normal lives. Their biggest need is to die with dignity. One of the reasons we like this film so much is that it makes the audience think about the issues it raises. It is the first film I have seen in which the subject matter is not always dealt with in a sensational way. In the case of this film, it is dealt with in a subtle manner. It is not a film that talks about drug abuse, rape, or the rights of criminals. These subjects are explored more gently and quietly. We learn about the motivations of the people who make the decisions and the effect that these decisions have on others. The film also examines the relationship between a surgeon and a patient. We see that there are deep emotional ties between a surgeon and his patient, but it is not the case that all patients are alike. One patient is much more open about her feelings, and this is another factor that makes us like this film so much. We also have a feel for the pain that goes into such a difficult operation. All of the actors in this film are very good, especially Christopher Walken and Amy Irving. It is always great to see Walken in a role that he has such a large role in. In this film, he plays a type of surgeon who is an exceptional surgeon, but who falls short of his true potential. But he is not going to quit in this film, and is going to face the day to day lives of these people and their pain and misery. He is someone who has earned our admiration and affection. It is a pity that the film is not in English. In this film, he is speaking with an American accent, which is not at all noticeable. Perhaps he needed to learn English to be able to be in this role, because it is very difficult to learn English. The film is well-acted and well-directed, and we are happy that we were able to see this film. We are also happy that it was the first movie to deal with this subject matter in a way that does not sensationalize it.
