The French-Belgian director Eric Rohmer's "I Am a Man" is an absurdist look at the absurdity of life. In this case, the absurdist is the life of three middle-aged Frenchmen who meet up at a French club, the "Lavalier" (from the French for "clown"). The club's owner, a man named Claude (Kiernan Shipka) seems to be a "high life" but also seems to have a mental disorder. His wife, a middle-aged lady, also seems to be suffering from a mental disorder. In the end, they decide to try to "take off" their clothes in the same room where Claude and his wife are sitting. The next morning, they realize that they've been able to take off their clothes. They're all naked except for a guy named Georges (Jean-Marc Vallon). This guy is a devoted husband, but he's also a bit of a slob. And his wife is, well, a bit of a slut. It turns out that Georges is really a "man" himself, but it's Claude who has to take the blame for the situation. The film is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Rohmer is able to make fun of the absurdity of life in a way that's both funny and sad. He also makes it clear that life is funny and sad in the same way, as well. The film is also a great example of how to make a comedy without being funny. In other words, the comedy is not really funny. The comedy is more of an absurdist look at life. The absurdist is the life of the three characters. And it's also the life of Claude. The humor is not really the humor of the film. It's the comedy of the absurdist. It's also the humor of life, because the absurdity of life is something that is amusing to all of us. And the humor of life is something that is amusing to all of us. That's why I loved this film. It's also one of the funniest films I've ever seen. And that's why I love it. I recommend this film to all of you who enjoy movies like "Barfly" and "The School of Rock." I highly recommend it.
