This is a well crafted film, beautifully photographed and filmed, and superbly performed by the entire cast. It's not a musical, and it's not a documentary, but it's definitely a film. Although I wasn't expecting to like it, I loved it. The acting, production, and directing were all top notch. I've always been a fan of Richard LaGravenese's music, and this film features some of his best work, both in the score and in the film. He composed the haunting, melancholy score, and the film is incredibly well-made. The cinematography is fantastic. You'll see the magic of the theater, the vibrant colors, and the night-time lighting. The lighting is beautifully shot, especially in the scenes in which Puccini performs the choreography. The entire film is beautifully photographed. The music, which is one of the most striking things about this film, is also excellent. The songs are haunting, and the lyrics are always relevant to the story. This film is great entertainment, and is very well-made. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes musicals. I loved it, and I'm glad that I've watched it.
