This is one of those films where you go in knowing nothing about the film, and coming out with a completely different view on the film. Personally I found it to be both more than the sum of its parts, and far more than it could have been. I was pretty impressed with how it really went into a lot of interesting topics, including the role of 'outsider' in the culture of the 90's. It's one of those films where you have to take a moment to let your mind go. Once you do that you will definitely have a lot more fun than if you were to just go in expecting something standard. I felt the performances were superb. I've never seen a lot of Dustin Hoffman, but he really brought it out in me. In this film he has to play an old man that is completely out of touch with the modern world, and yet has an abundance of compassion for his family. It's a character that I've seen him play before, and I feel like I've seen him play it in several films. It really takes some effort to pull off an old man that is completely out of touch with modern society, but Hoffman was able to do that. I also felt that Elisabeth Shue was excellent in this film. I love the way she portrays a young girl who is into punk rock, and she definitely steals the show. I also felt that this film was very well acted, and well shot. I also felt that the editing was very well done. It's a very short film, but I didn't feel that it took anything away from the film. I also liked the ending of the film. It's a bit of a surprise, but the ending was really unexpected. Overall, I enjoyed this film. I didn't hate it, and I found it to be very good.
