In 1884, a woman and her son, along with two other men, are brutally killed in the early morning. They are buried in an unmarked grave in the jungle of Chiapas, Mexico. One day, two men arrive at the location. They are members of a vigilante group called the Zetas. They are armed and ready to do battle with the man who killed their family. The men of the Zetas are in a hurry to leave, so they can return to their families and get back to their jobs. One of the men, Zorilla (Raul Sicilia), has a plan to bring the man who killed his family back to justice. He gets the job done with the help of the local priest (Luis Alberto Ramon Sanchez) and the man's wife (Lydia Verdu). Their plan is to give the man a new identity so that he can get a new job. However, the Zetas are not finished with the man. They plan to kill him, too, and to make sure that the man never gets a chance to speak. This is a story that portrays the violence of the Mexican drug cartels and their ruthless methods. It is a story of revenge and redemption, and of what can happen when one man stands up against the state and its corrupt and brutal thugs. The movie is beautifully shot. The cinematography and scenery is a feast for the eyes. I was very impressed with the beauty of the film. The music score is amazing. It was accompanied by great performances from the actors. A scene in the movie that made me laugh was when the priest was talking to the man in the bar. He was telling him about how many people died in the bar and how he would do anything to get a confession from him. At first, I thought he was kidding but it was actually true. The best part of the movie is the writing. The story is very well written and really carries the story. The actors did a fantastic job with the material they were given. It was a real shame that the movie didn't win any awards because it is a very well made movie and it deserves some attention. I strongly recommend that you watch the movie. The movie is worth the time and effort.

I saw this film last night at the 8th annual San Diego International Film Festival. It was a tough sell for me because I saw it last year in a theater in Memphis and I couldn't stand the theatre where I saw it. The critics hated it, the theater people hated it, the moviegoers hated it, but I still had a lot of difficulty sitting through it. I felt like I was sitting in a movie theater. The film was like a character study of a struggling family. It was a story of a mother who died in childbirth, a teenage girl who was raped, a single mother, and a struggling photographer who wanted to do something to help. The characters, while based on real people, were so real that I could easily believe that they could have been real people. The cast was phenomenal. John Turturro was excellent in the role of the photographer, even though he was only in the film for a few minutes. Elisa Donovan was wonderful in her role as the teenage girl. Olivia Colman was amazing as the single mother. The scene when she is in the bathroom with her son after he rapes her was so moving. Natalie Portman was brilliant as the teenage girl who was raped. The only actor I thought was really outstanding was Peter Sarsgaard as the doctor who helped her recover. He played the role so well. He really brought his character to life. I have always been a fan of his work. The only thing I have a problem with was the ending. I didn't like the ending and thought it was a bit too quick. I think that if the film makers had spent more time on the ending, it could have been much better. Still, it was an incredible film. The performances are so powerful. I have watched this film three times and I will probably watch it again before the end of the year. I would recommend this film to anyone who is into a drama. It is so powerful and moving and I feel like I have experienced it. I was very impressed with the cast and crew. This film is a great representation of a family trying to live a normal life in a very complicated world. I would like to see a film about a father who is struggling to find his daughter and the family struggles that he has to face in trying to do so.
