Description REQUIEM FOR THE AMERICAN DREAM is the definitive discourse with Noam Chomsky on the defining characteristic of our time - the deliberate concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a select few. Through interviews filmed over four years, Chomsky unpacks the principles that have brought us to the crossroads of historically unprecedented inequality - tracing a half century of policies designed to favor the most wealthy at the expense of the majority - while also looking back on his own life of activism and political participation. Profoundly personal and thought provoking, Chomsky provides penetrating insight into what may well be the lasting legacy of our time - the death of the middle class; a swan song for our democracy. A potent reminder that power ultimately rests in the hands of the governed, REQUIEM is required viewing for all who maintain hope in a shared stake in the future.

There is a tremendous amount of propaganda being created about this film. The movie is not about the bad things the Chinese have done but about the good things the Chinese have done. The movie does not tell us that we are not justified in our actions but that we need to think about the ways in which we may be justified in our actions. It is not about Chinese suffering. The movie tells us that suffering is a part of life and that we cannot escape it. We cannot avoid suffering. We need to deal with it. It is not about the Chinese government's actions but the government's responses to it. They are not the cause of the suffering but the reaction to it. The movie is not about China's problems but about the solutions. The government has not done anything wrong but the Chinese people have been very much involved in their problems. China has done very much to help other countries, but they have also done very much to help themselves. China has made tremendous efforts to improve its own people's lives but they have also done a lot to improve the lives of others. We must have the courage to do the right thing and the courage to say what we think and to say it without hiding behind propaganda. The message of the movie is that we need to change our attitude towards others. We need to make the right choices and we need to say what we think and to say it without hiding behind propaganda. The movie is not just about the Chinese. It is not just about a country but about a people.
